First and foremost, thanks to Mother Nature who provided a top ten day for our first foray holding Chowdafest outdoors. The picture perfect fall day and waterside location of Calf Pasture Beach in Norwalk proved to be the ideal backdrop for our culinary competition last month! While everyone voted on their favorite chowder, soup and bisque, the overwhelming consensus was that moving Chowdafest outdoors made the event that much better!
Thanks to the thousands who attended from all over CT with a strong representation from New York as well. Your participation helped raise a record donation to the ongoing fight against hunger .
Thanks to all the restaurants who participated and congrats to our recent winners. I hope everyone gives our sponsors some patronage and you visit our restaurants this fall and winter!
Thanks to our sponsors: Stop & Shop, The Farmers Cow, Fiat of Fairfield County, E. & J. Gallo, Sierra Nevada, Pepperidge Farms, Kraft Foods, Chabaso Bakery, Poland Springs, Westminster Crackers, Vegware, Sustainable America, Hilton Garden Inn of Norwalk, WEBE 108, The Hour, CT Bites, OmNomCT, TTD, Gallean Seafood and Simple Tix. Thanks to my hard working team and volunteers especially my daughter & wife. Without you, another successful Chowdafest wouldn't be possible.
Shout out to the Tim Currie Motown Band! They're even better than advertised. Please be sure to see them whenever and wherever they play!
Thanks to all my food blogger and media friends who helped spread the word on what a great event Chowdafest is. You should be proud to know you're continued support helps grow this state-wide event and helps fight hunger!
Thanks to the City of Norwalk especially Mike Mocciae, Chris Hansen and Tom Closter who successfully paved the way to bringing Chowdafest to Norwalk. Kudos to Rich & his Calf Pasture Beach team that were so helpful in making our first experience with the beach a successful one.
Planning for fall 2015 is already in the works and while I think it's hard to raise the bar each year, wait until you see what we have in store for you next year.
