August 5th is National Oyster Day, well, I think it is. Today I learned that a CT congressman is trying to make a National Lobster Day and here I was thinking June 15th was always National Lobster Day. Apparently not - it's the unofficial day and not recognized officially by the US government. So, are they saying National Chowder Day, Feb. 25th isn't official either? Am I about to enjoy some incredible oysters (from Norm Bloom's oyster beds of course) at Parallel Post in Trumbull tonight in recognition of National Oyster Day and it's just a Hallmark excuse to send another greeting card?
OK, I get it. National Chowder, Lobster and Oyster greeting cards are best sellers but c'mon, let's give them their official due. Thankfully, I can declare that OCT 11th is National Chowdafest Day this year and we hope you all come out to OFFICIALLY celebrate it with us!
