Meet our new friend, "Happy". Yes, he's a clam and he's happy to be a part of the upcoming promotional efforts for Chowdafest.
OK, does anyone know where the expression "happy as a clam" came from? I didn't until recently when I was enjoying some steam clams and asked myself "how happy can they be if they made it to my plate?" Well, it turns out the original expression is "happy as a clam at high tide" when clams are least likely to be eaten by predators. Who knew right?
Well, I can say I'm happy as a clam when I'm scouring the state of Connecticut for the best chowder soup and bisque. Wait until you see this years line-up, by far the best. Until then, clam on!
